There has been a boost in training programs for employees in many Albanian companies and institutions these last few years. However, there are many cases when they lose their essence as many see these trainings as a routine or just a way to get some certificates. The aim is to complete the training hours with as little of a budget as possible, instead of actually engaging employees and leveling up their skills. Therefore, despite filling up statistics and serving a glamorous picture of how they engage in these practices, there are very few companies in Albania that take this investment seriously.
Success stories in Albania
We have distinguished three companies in particular as success stories for this topic. Firstly, Raiffeisen Bank Albania is one of the best examples in the banking sector when it comes to these sorts of investments. They have identified their personnel’s needs and are continuously looking for new ways to fulfill them. They have been investing a lot in, OKR training, Value-Based Leadership trainings and also embraced IDGs in their latest workshop.
The second company is Facilization. For a fast-growing IT services and software business, there is no doubt that they fully understand the importance of good quality training and coaching. Not only top-level management but also other employees are always eager to learn more and prepare for the future.
Lastly, another company that we want to distinguish is Orion Construction. They have engaged their employees in continuous training, especially for Sales and Negotiations. We have been glad to see their willingness to follow many phases of the training, in order to get the full experience.
Success stories worldwide
Initiatives for upskilling employees have been a focus for many international companies. As the Fourth Industrial Revolution gets closer and technology advances so rapidly, companies have been investing in employee training in order to get them ready for jobs that will be in demand in the future. Some examples are Amazon, PwC, IBM, Mastercard, JP Morgan, Facebook, and more. They have all invested millions in order to keep a high standard and stay competitive in their respective industries. So, in order to be the best, there must be continuous training, learning, and adapting in our ever-changing world.
